The story began in Zimbabwe, where Roy Henderson grew up as part of the family behind Shieldcote Paints, a company established and owned by the Henderson family. From an early age, Roy was immersed in the industry and gained first-hand knowledge of paints, coatings, preparation and the importance of quality workmanship.

When Roy later made the move to South Africa, he brought that wealth of experience with him and established PermaPaint in Pietermaritzburg. What began as a new chapter has grown into a trusted painting business serving customers across Pietermaritzburg, Durban, Hilton and surrounding areas, built around the same principles of quality, reliability and pride in the finished result.

Today, Roy remains at the heart of PermaPaint, personally overseeing the business and its projects. Alongside him is his wife, Cherie, who plays an important role in the day-to-day running of the company.
